December 29 Living with FameYes Children, the much anticipated day has arrived: 29-Dec-2007, another pic of us published in the Toronto Star. Yawn. For my multitude of fans, for today and today only I will be autographing copies for only half price. Tomorrow it goes back up to full price. Below is the text and pic from the Star, for those of you who are too short sighted and without enough vision to realize that this issue will one day be so incredibly valuabe as we become even more famous when we eventually move off the boat and into a shoe (and I grow hair down to my shoulders).
"Six months ago on our New in Homes cover, Cheryl Hughes and Norm Finlay prepared to celebrate Canada Day on Aslan's Wind, an Aloha 34 sailboat on which they live year-round at the Port Credit Yacht Club. This past week, they had a floating Christmas dinner for the first time and, being vegans, that included Tofurky (turkey-shaped tofu)."
![]() December 12 Safe LivingMy home for the winter season! Yes, you sick-minded heathens you, I do live in a giant condom, you're right. Listen, I had to use almost 12 of my custom fit jobs to cover the whole boat. Now I'll have to buy another carton from www.threeleggedman.com. Oh well, better safe than sorry, so the Seawife whines. December 10 Santa Arrives at PCYC!The Toronto Marine Police Unit claimed that they were merely testing the newest winter fashions in Total Immersion Suits, but we know better: They arrested Santa for several violations including not wearing a parachute and illegally pumping out his head while flying over Port Credit Harbour Marina. A special thanks goes out to the good citizens of “B” Dock for reporting Santa to the police!
November 21 My Kind of TenderNow this is a real Boat Toy. Picture something like this hanging from your davits:

November 20 I have a headache, Dear.So what does a Blogger do when he’s not in the mood for Blogging? He becomes a Bloggee. Or a Bloggie. Or whatever the word is for a Blog Reader. Bloggite? Anyway, I read other people’s Blogs. And what I like to read these days are the current Blogs of people who are motoring/sailing down the ICW today, right now, this minute, all traveling through roughly the same area. These are the people who are experiencing today what we hope to eventually participate in, the annual Snow Bird migration south along the ICW.

November 05 The Return of FidelGood news! All five Canadian distributed copies of the fall issue of Living Aboard Magazine were finally purchased! Yes, as I said, I did buy the first four but today I'm pleased to report that my wonderful wife finally bought that 5th copy. Now I can go back to blogging with pride and my head held high in the knowledge that the vast multitude of my Blog Fans out there would actually pay to read what I have to say. And as soon as the Seawife pays back the 5 bucks that I loaned her to buy that last copy, I'll post another entry. In the meantime, here's a pic of Aslan's Wind in our winter slip at PCYC:
October 02 I'm on Strike!Yo, Blogging Dudes, Living Aboard Magazine has a Canadian distribution of five copies. I bought four of them and that last one with my “SILLY” article in it is still sitting there on the newsstand, waiting for someone to buy it. Until one of you does, I ain’t blogging another word! August 22 Living Aboard MagazineOkay Bloggers, Liveaboards and Liveaboard Wannabees: it's official, my "SILLY" blog entry made it into "Living Aboard" magazine's September/October issue. Page 51 and where anything I write belongs, in the "Off the Chart" section! And while you can read it here, GO OUT AND BUY A COPY!! I'll even sign your copy so that you can get it framed and hung up on the ceiling above your bed, where you can stare at it when going to sleep at night and dream about living aboard! That's where I'd hang one of my 127 copies, too, except that glue doesn't stick very well to mold and anyway, it would probably annoy the spiders; if you live on a boat, you really don't want to get those things mad at you. (The Sea-Wife points out that you don't necessarily need my signature on your copy in order to have the article framed and hung above your bed, but I say that you don't necessarily need the article in order to have my signature framed and hung above your bed, either, so once again she makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Hey, they do keep that vberth warm in the winter.) |
